The Indian society warmly embraces various interpersonal and familial relationships that are strengthened over a period of time. While these relationships come with their own form of urgency and priority, they also have their share of ups and downs. The phrases ‘sacrifice for your loved ones’, ‘adjustments save relationships’, and ‘distance owing to generation gap’ are heard a little too often in the course of these relationships. Women chasing their dreams as freely as men and bonds formed between two individuals from different generations, are conversational topics… but how long would it take for us to unflinchingly accept the concept of self-love and unconventional friendships? With this core thought, Sony Entertainment Television gears up to launch two new shows – Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye and Jagannath Aur Purvi KiDosti Anokhi starting February 7, every Monday to Friday at 9.00pm and 9.30 pm respectively. Both the shows will trace the journeys of everyday individuals, as they forge relationships, and go through the twists and turns of human emotions.
How far would a doting father sacrifice his ethics just for his daughter’s happiness?
Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye produced by Shashi Mittal & Sumeet Mittal, will chart the journey of a couple – Soumya Verma portrayed by Vidhi Pandya and her husband Armaan Oberoi portrayed by Vijayendra Kumeria. Soumya is an ambitious & struggling TV writer and Armaan Oberoi, a charming and successful TV producer. On the surface, their relationship seems perfect. For Soumya, her marriage with Armaan feels that of equals, with her husband supporting her ambitions but he has a deceitful side to him that no one knows of. Will Soumya realise she’s being manipulated by Armaan?
Jagannath Aur Purvi Ki Dosti Anokhi produced by Katha Kottage, on the other hand, portrays unique and innocent friendship cemented between two individuals – a millennial and an elderly gentleman. As they juggle through different worldviews and experiences to forge a sweet and iron-clad camaraderie, the show traces the nuanced facades of human experience. One through the vivacious, impulsive, and carefree Purvi essayed by debutante Ismeet Kohli – a millennial adamant on living on her terms; and the elderly, experienced Jaganath Mishra played by veteran actor Rajendra Gupta, who has seen the umpteen rolls of dice played out by life. The show will also see talented actor Sushmita Mukherjee essay the character of Kusum, Jaganath’s wife. Set against the backdrop of the charming ghats of Banaras, the show takes the viewers on a beautiful yet endearing journey of Jaganath Mishra finding his lost sense of life’s purpose through a young stranger-turned-friend Purvi.
Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye and Jagannath Aur Purvi KiDosti Anokhi will take the audience through bitter-sweet journeys of individual emotions that come with different dynamics of relationships. Will Soumya remain true to herself, or will marriage and Armaan’s manipulations force her to compromise her aspirations? Will Jagannath Mishra look at life with a newer perspective after meeting the young and vivacious Purvi?
